Description
This song came from watching the dynamic between Captain Stede and Blackbeard in Our Flag Means Death. We all have intense emotions, but how we handle them is what really matters. The song is about that—and about having someone by your side who accepts you, no matter the emotional storm you’re going through.

Lyrics
You’re floating out
And the current’s strong today
All alone
And the pain hurts more than usual
In the sky
The clouds are tearing up with rain again
Your thoughts seem almost criminal
Maybe there’s no one left to turn to
And the anger stars to burn through
It’s alright to feel what you feel
It’s alright to feel what you feel
It’s alright to feel what you feel
It’s alright
The world is tough
You were made to bring it all down to its knees
You’re a lamb
But they all want the blood stains on the walls
You take your fears
And turn them into battle scars
You could cry but you won’t
When your midnights are in turmoil
And your rage would make the sea boil
It’s alright to feel what you feel
It’s alright to feel what you feel
It’s alright to feel what you feel
It’s alright
I know you’re hurting and afraid
When there’s no one left to blame
You can always call my name
It’s alright to feel what you feel
It’s alright to feel what you feel
It’s alright to feel what you feel
And the current’s strong today
All alone
And the pain hurts more than usual
In the sky
The clouds are tearing up with rain again
Your thoughts seem almost criminal
Maybe there’s no one left to turn to
And the anger stars to burn through
It’s alright to feel what you feel
It’s alright to feel what you feel
It’s alright to feel what you feel
It’s alright
The world is tough
You were made to bring it all down to its knees
You’re a lamb
But they all want the blood stains on the walls
You take your fears
And turn them into battle scars
You could cry but you won’t
When your midnights are in turmoil
And your rage would make the sea boil
It’s alright to feel what you feel
It’s alright to feel what you feel
It’s alright to feel what you feel
It’s alright
I know you’re hurting and afraid
When there’s no one left to blame
You can always call my name
It’s alright to feel what you feel
It’s alright to feel what you feel
It’s alright to feel what you feel
