Bio

Scott Morgan has lived and worked in NYC for more than 20 years. Having spent almost 20 years in the technology world, he is now a senior leader in the non-profit sector as an advocate for HIV/AIDS and other diseases. With a BFA in music and a lifetime of involvement with music, Scott has approached his interest in singing with great passion. He has focused on jazz vocals and has studied with such jazz luminaries as Kate McGarry. Scott has played at clubs like Jazz at Kitano, , Birdland and The Blue Note as well as a Broadway tribute at Urban Stages. His repertoire includes great songs from the American Popular Songbook, jazz classics, interpretations of tunes by The Beatles, James Taylor and Paul Simon. His first-rate musicianship is evident in everything he sings and his appealing personality comes through in his natural performing style. In 2017, he released a CD with Miranda Records with a trio featuring jazz icon Fred Hersch that shows the wide range of skills and song choices. “Scott Morgan’s singing is warm and loose. He has taste, heart, and musical intelligence. He’s a joy to hear, and I’d love to hear a lot more from him.” ~David Hajdu, music critic for The New Republic “Like a breath of fresh male vocalist air, Scott Morgan’s voice wafts gently through your ears, and heads straight to your heart.” ~ Janis Siegel – Grammy Winner and Founding Member of Manhattan Transfer “Morgan submerges himself totally in surrender to each particular song, making these Songs of Life profoundly moving”

Lyrics

Hurt for a minute

If I told you that I love you
Would you think about me less
If I said that I was here for you
Would you walk away faster than my heart could chase

If I told you I was happy
Would you have to tell me no
If I tried to take your hand
Would you run faster than my heart can go

Chorus
It’s gonna hurt for a minute
While we pick apart this mess
That we’ve been in for a minute
Oh my God, why can’t we fall in love again

It’s gonna hurt for a minute
While we pick apart this mess
That we’ve been in for a minute
Holy shit, why can’t we fall in love again

Do I think that I’ll forgive you
My heart is telling me no
Maybe I should wait for you
I know the answer but I can’t let go

When you tell me that you’re leaving
Will I go and try my luck
I could say that we are even
But maybe we should back things up

Nights in the bleachers
I’m high and my feet go
Running after, running after you

Chorus
