We all have someone who is no longer with us: a family member, a friend, a lover, for whatever reason but, now and then, they just ‘pop in’ into our minds. It’s good that we remember the best moments together the most.

Blues and Blues Rock Singer Songwriter
Jola Recchioni was born in Poland and lives now in London, UK. Jola is a new, independent blues and blues rock artist who burst into the music scene in 2022 and is quickly growing her following among the lovers of blues rock. She started writing, composing and recording her songs only last year when she released her first solo album Wrongtime. “I wanted to be a bit defiant when selecting the name for the album: I wanted to shout out that life will lead us onto various paths but it is never too late to follow your passions. I think that message of defiance, of finding strength and hope is often present in my songs.” The album consists of twelve songs, the majority of which have both music and lyrics written by Jola Recchioni. A few songs are either a music or lyrics collaboration with other songwriters. Jola Recchioni says: “I wanted my songs to be firmly rooted in the traditional blues but give them a more rockier and edgier side”. Jola’s second album Gone To Find My Blues was released 6 Dec 24 and she is now recording songs for her third album due for release in spring of 2025. Watch this space!

Lyrics

Sometimes when I just sit down
To relax and clear my mind
Make my soul blissfully empty
And enjoy a glass of wine
Just as evening smells so fine
Then in a moment or two
Suddenly you’re on my mind
Smiling in that hazy blue…

Hazy blue, hazy blue
All the memories of you
Just saying hello to me
Embracing me soft
Seems that past moments together
Time could never erase
In my heart, in my heart
You’ll have that hazy blue place.

And I have a new life now
Oh, and yes it’s so exciting
And I’m doing many things
That I never did with you
No, I wouldn’t now go back
What’s in the past’s best left as that
But you can pop in any time
I’ll share with you my glass of wine.

It’s funny how time
Leaves the sad times behind
And the greatest moments
Are the ones most recalled
Though you’ll never forget
All those past regrets
It’s the smiling eyes
That will shine through it all.

Hazy blue, hazy blue
All the memories of you
Just saying hello to me
Embracing me soft
Seems that past moments together
Time can never, never erase
In my heart, in my heart
You’ll have that hazy blue place.

No, I wouldn’t now go back
What’s in the past’s best left as that
But come again and I will too
Smile back at you in hazy blue
Yeah…
