Description

I was in church one day listening to sermon. The content was something to the affect of a man walks into a saloon……..sits down to to play a game of poker with Jesus and the Devil for the posession of his soul. It’s a play on words……..Jesus’ hand of cards and the hand that took the nails or the Hand of the Son. Jesus was there to rescue the man from from the cheating hand of Satan and open his eyes to the loving hand of God………..It’s a basic warning not to play with Devil. I have a whole idea for a video.

Lyrics

The Hand of the Son

Emin C Dsus
I was a gambler I bet my life
I could walk this world without the light
Making my decisions as to what was right
from the spin of a wheel and the role of the dice

Well I came to the table for one last game
and I asked the man next to me “what’s your name?”
He said “Death”
I asked him “where you from?
He said “ the valley of the shadow boy you’d better run!”
C Emin
Chorus #1 You bet your soul and now it’s time to pay
D D/C G
I bet you never thought that it would end this way
C Emin
Fear gripped my heart and I thought I was done
Amin7 B Emin
Then I looked across the table and saw ……….the hand of the Son

There were scars on His hands He said he took for me
There was love in His eyes that set me free
All His cards were on the table and then I knew
He said “ I could beat death with a pair of twos”

Death was sweatin bullits when he thought he had won
As he reached for me his game was undone
A card fell from his sleeve as he started to run
When he was stopped and arrested by the hand of the Son

Chorus #2 Death you’ve been cheatin’ justa way too long
I can see in your eyes it’s time your bluff I call
my cards are on the table my gamblin’ days are done
It’s time I surrender my life, to the hand of the Son

If you’re a gambler remember he don’t play fair
Your life is worth nothing to a devil’s dare
There’s only one sure way you can win this game
is to lay down your cards and call on Jesus name (repeat last chorus)
