Lyrics

“I should have told you before” by Dana Gaynor (copyright 2024)

(Verse 1)
So you think that the world is fair and
Everythings gonna work out right
Someday your prince will find you
And you’ll ride off in the night
You know I hate to tell you
It don’t work that way
In Life, you gotta pick yourself up
To have a better day

(Chorus)
And I should have told you before
I should have
Yes I should have told you before
I should have

(Verse 2)
Everybody seem to have it coming
Ain’t no body gonna get away
It’s the trial and the tribulation
Of life in the modern day
And when you thinks it’s over
And when you think it’s done
That’s when
The troubles start and
Raise hell for everyone and

(Chorus)
(Solo)

(Verse 3)
There’s a man who’s an instigator
In the middle of a public scene
Gotta spew some kind of hatred
And you know it’s pretty mean
And when the good get going
That’s when the fools get got
It’s all an endless game that
Ties you up into a knot

Chorus

(Verse 4)

Now life has a lot of choices
Some that you have to make
Sometimes they work out for you
Sometimes they make you ache
They melt and mold inside you
And fill you to the core until
They reveal the person that you really are

(Chorus)
(Chorus)
(Interlude)
