I, Dudley Allen, wrote the song. My sister, Kim Allen, is singing the vocals.

Description

One day while shopping at Walmart, I was getting out of my car and saw a family who were pushing a young girl in a wheelchair into the store. The other kids were running around her, playing with her, and trying to make a game out of going into the store. I got tears in my eyes watching the scene, and thought what must be running through that little girl’s mind, stuck in a wheelchair and not able to run or play with the other kids.

Bio

I began playing music at the age of five as the drummer in my father’s band. As I got older, I began to play drums for other acts. At the age of 20, I began playing the pedal steel guitar, having never taken a lesson in my life. Along with my sister, I began working with the Loretta Lynn Show and later moved to Nashville where I worked on the road for many stars. I have played with such notable acts as Gary Stewart, Johnny Paycheck, George Jones, Kitty Wells, Hank Thompson, Johnny Bush, and a host of others.

Daddy’s Little Angel

I’ve always been daddy’s little girl
He tells me every day I am his world
He likes to squeeze my hand
And say I love you with a grin
I know my daddy will be with me until the end

I can’t run and play like the other kids do
I sit in this chair day after day
Sometimes I cry and think nobody cares
Daddy’s always there to wipe away my tears

Chorus
Daddy tells me I’m one of God’s chosen few
No one can love you more than God and I do
When I get to Heaven, God will take care of me
I’ll be able to run and play for eternity

When I get to Heaven
I’ll greet my mother with open arms
I will squeeze her hand and stand by her side
There’ll be no more pain, no more tears to hide
Cause momma and God’s by my side

I’ll be waiting to for my daddy up here
He’ll be so happy to see there’s no chair
I’ll be standing with mom and
Daddy by my side
There’ll be no pain, no more tears to hide
