Description
Building on the themes of denial & betrayal explored in the previous single, “What Love Can Do,” Heidi Vincent’s latest track, “Criminal,” delivers an upbeat, cinematic take on vengeance and healing. With a dash of sarcasm & a spark of rage, this vibrant country-pop-rock anthem proving that country-pop-rock can be as cathartic as it is catchy. 🧨
Bio
“🎙️Because I love to sing & write songs 🎶”
Vancouver singer-songwriter Heidi Vincent launched her music career in the early ’90s when K97.5 FM picked up her first song, inspired by personal tragedy. This pivotal moment propelled her to global recognition, leading to numerous songs featured in film, TV, and nearly 30 network showcases. Recently, the National Campus and Community Radio Association spotlighted her work.
Heidi’s music combines reflective lyrics with catchy melodies, connecting with a broad audience. Her debut album, “Happy Now,” received critical acclaim, while “Something Borrowed, Something Blue” solidified her rising status. Singles like “Dear ADHD” and “What Love Can Do” have garnered praise from fans and industry insiders alike.
In 2022, Dear ADHD broke stereotypes with a pop-country anthem celebrating self-acceptance. Her latest single, What Love Can Do (May 2024), dives into love, heartbreak, and resilience with a soulful, genre-blending sound.
With a vocal range spanning mezzo-soprano to contralto, harmonies that hook, and a style that blends country with indie, rock, and folk, Heidi Vincent brings a unique, powerful sound to the music scene, not so dissimilar to Elle King, Serena Ryder, Indigo Girls & Lainey Wilson.
Fans can listen to her latest single, “Criminal” (Nov 1, 2024). Following themes of denial and betrayal from “What Love Can Do,” “Criminal” offers an ironic twist with a darkly playful & energetic journey of healing through rage-driven murder reverie.🧨
All “3 singles, “Criminal,” “What Love Can Do” & “Dear ADHD” were produced by Winston Hauschild (Hannah Georgas, Wanting), feature guitarist/producer Jerry Wong (Loverboy, Damn The Diva) along with drummer Flavio Cirillo (Mother Mother, Corb Lund).

Lyrics
I’ve been sitting here
Gathering thoughts about you
About you
And I’ve been sitting here
Covered in 3 guesses who
Yes it’s you
Ooooooh
You think you can leave me
Ohhhhhh
You think it’d be easy
Baby I’m just a criminal
Coming for you
Yes for you
My blade is sharp
Bet you wish you
Had thought it all through
Yes you do
And I’ve been sitting here
Thinking bout what I should do
Do to you
I bet your wishing dear
I hadn’t been there watching you
Both of you
Ooooooh
You thought you could leave now
And Ohhhhhh
You’ll have to leave with out
Your life
Baby I’m just a criminal
Coming for you
Yes her too
My pistol’s packed
Got a bullet for 3 guesses who
Both of you
Ooooooh
I was right about you
Ooooooh
So right about you
About you
I’ve been killing time
Watching your lies slip into
Into view
I was wondering
What I did wrong that’s the truth
Baby blue
Ooooooh
You think you could cheat me
Ohhhhhh
You think it’d be easy
Baby I’m just a criminal
Coming for you
Yes for you
My blade is sharp
Bet you wish you
Had thought it all through
Yes you do!
Baby I’m just a criminal
Coming for you
Yes for you
My pistol’s packed
Got a bullet for 3 guesses who
Yes for you
Yes for you
Gathering thoughts about you
About you
