Lyrics
Cracks in the Walls (We’ve Got to Get Back)
Riding on the 6:09 Express
Wondering how we got into this mess
Searching for the love we used to share
I’ve looked but I can’t find it anywhere
There’s cracks in the walls we’ve built
Not strong enough to hold our guilt
We’ve got to get back to where we used to be
We need some time alone, just you and me
We’d be fools to let this love just slip away
So hold me tight, and don’t be afraid any more
And now I’m on this downtown local “E”
I can’t believe how all this came to be
The love we found so easily before
I’ve looked but I can’t find it anymore
There’s cracks in the walls we’ve built
Not strong enough to hold our guilt
We’ve got to get back to where we used to be
We need some time alone, just you and me
We’d be fools to let our love just slip away
So, hold me tight, and don’t be afraid any more
Now I’m dreaming of all our yesterdays
We’d sit and watch the sunsets by the bay
Thinking of the love we used to know
Why is it so hard for us to let it show?
There’s cracks in the walls we’ve built
Not strong enough to hold our guilt
We’ve got to get back to where we used to be
We need some time alone, just you and me
We’d be fools to let this love just slip away
So, hold me tight, and don’t be afraid
We’ve got to get back to where we used to be
We need some time alone, just you and me
We’d be fools to let our love just slip away
So, hold me tight, and don’t be afraid…
We’ve got to get back to where we used to be
We’ve got to get back to where we used to be
We’ve got to get back to where we used to be
