Bio
Scott Morgan has lived and worked in NYC for more than 20 years. Having spent almost 20 years in the technology world, he is now a senior leader in the non-profit sector as an advocate for HIV/AIDS and other diseases. With a BFA in music and a lifetime of involvement with music, Scott has approached his interest in singing with great passion. He has focused on jazz vocals and has studied with such jazz luminaries as Kate McGarry. Scott has played at clubs like Jazz at Kitano, , Birdland and The Blue Note as well as a Broadway tribute at Urban Stages. His repertoire includes great songs from the American Popular Songbook, jazz classics, interpretations of tunes by The Beatles, James Taylor and Paul Simon. His first-rate musicianship is evident in everything he sings and his appealing personality comes through in his natural performing style. In 2017, he released a CD with Miranda Records with a trio featuring jazz icon Fred Hersch that shows the wide range of skills and song choices. “Scott Morgan’s singing is warm and loose. He has taste, heart, and musical intelligence. He’s a joy to hear, and I’d love to hear a lot more from him.” ~David Hajdu, music critic for The New Republic “Like a breath of fresh male vocalist air, Scott Morgan’s voice wafts gently through your ears, and heads straight to your heart.” ~ Janis Siegel – Grammy Winner and Founding Member of Manhattan Transfer “Morgan submerges himself totally in surrender to each particular song, making these Songs of Life profoundly moving”
Lyrics
The color of your eyes, make me wanna cry
The brandy tone of your skin warms me within
The color of your hair brings sweetness in the air
The way time flies, takes me by surprise
Chouse
I wanna hide within your arms
Take refuge in your strength
Will you shield me from the harms
Of another love affair.
The supple of your cheek
Makes my heart go weak
The clasp of your hand
Is gentle as rain
Calm of your soul
Sets my heart aglow everytime, everytime
Chorus
Oooooh where will we go from here
And can we get to heaven
I’m not sure that I wanna know
It’s such a foolish question
Chorus
The brandy tone of your skin warms me within
The color of your hair brings sweetness in the air
The way time flies, takes me by surprise
Chouse
I wanna hide within your arms
Take refuge in your strength
Will you shield me from the harms
Of another love affair.
The supple of your cheek
Makes my heart go weak
The clasp of your hand
Is gentle as rain
Calm of your soul
Sets my heart aglow everytime, everytime
Chorus
Oooooh where will we go from here
And can we get to heaven
I’m not sure that I wanna know
It’s such a foolish question
Chorus
