Description

“Blind” came from a year marked by loss, heartbreak, and the slow unraveling of relationships that felt like they should have lasted forever. It reflects the pain of losing not just my marriage but the connection with someone who once felt like my safe haven—a connection that burned brightly but couldn’t sustain its own weight.

The lyrics speak to the moments of trying to hold on when everything felt like it was slipping away, of searching for clarity in the midst of confusion, and finding the courage to face the silence left behind. Whether it was the endings that came abruptly or the ones that faded with time, this song captures the struggle of letting go when your heart still wants to hold on. It’s my way of processing the losses, honoring what they meant,

Lyrics

Gonna call in the tide
Gonna wash away my sins
I’m told I got so many
Don’t know where to begin
Never done nothing wrong
Never done nothing right
Seems like it always
Just ends in a fight
So I’ll be out here somewhere
Ocean breeze in my thinnin’ hair
And you won’t know if I’m gone
Or sipping bourbon somewhere
You know I really thought
Someone could love me this time
But I guess that it was me,
Not love, that’s blind.
Gonna call it a night
Gonna put this to bed
Gonna let the whiskey drown
The swirling thoughts in my head
I was already drowning
Before you pushed me in
Now I’m choking on
All the things you said
So I’ll be out here somewhere
Evening breeze on my thinning hair
And you won’t know if I’m gone
Or sipping bourbon somewhere
You know I really thought
That you could love me this time
But I guess that it’s just me,
Not love, that’s blind.
Gonna call in the flood
Gonna put out the fire
From burning bridges
While I hang by a wire

Never done nothing wrong
But never done nothing right
And there ain’t much left of me
To put up a fight

So I’ll be out here somewhere
The mountain breeze in my thinnin’ hair
And you won’t know if I’m gone
Or sipping bourbon somewhere
You know I really thought
That love could save me this time
But we both knew it was me,
Not love, that’s blind.
