Description

2 separate moments of inspiration fused as one.

First, while riding a bike in Waltham, Massachusetts, I “found a dollar on the side of the road”.

Later, I noticed a finch in a tangle of honeysuckle by a lightpost on my front walk, and imagined it was observing the world from this hiding place.

Bio

Lyrics

I found a dollar on the side of the road
I look around to see if someone is watching
I leave another one to lighten my load
Feels like a little lucky omen

Today I’ll probably pick up the phone
Maybe my heart is finally open
A small step into the unknown
For too long I’ve felt intimidated

‘Cause you’re a star
And I’m a bird in honeysuckle

There’s no need for feeling lonely and blue
Turn around find someone who’s looking for you

The light is turning green nobody’s home
He must be all lost in a daydream
A rude reminder from the car next door
I hear the horn that someone is squeezing

Today I finally picked up the phone
For too long I’ve been intimidated
A small step into the unknown
Maybe my heart was finally ready

You were a star
I was a bird in honeysuckle

There’s no need for feeling lonely and blue
Turn around find someone who’s looking for you

The sun is shining on the side of the house
Doesn’t mean I won’t pack an umbrella
I see a silhouette of you in your blouse
I’m such a lucky fella, yeah!
