Boy, Interrupted
Inspiration for this month's "procrastination" challenge is drawn from my youth, trying to pluck up the courage to ask out a girl I had been admiring from afar for some time. I always seemed to find a reason not to ask. When I did finally make my move, a friend – knowing that I had been working up to this moment for weeks – decided it would be a laugh to interrupt and put me off my stride. He managed to do this very successfully, and I never got to ask the girl. Some friend! I have been to see Lloyd Cole twice in the last month, so I suspect I have allowed a little bit of his influence to slip into my lyrics and vocal presentation…
What a beautiful little song. Congratulations Tom, really enjoyed that. Nicely recorded too. Had to listen to it again which is always a good sign.
Very nice Tom. Nice guitar work and good vocal.
As mentioned on the FB page, short & definitely sweet. Great response to the challenge
As I said on FB, I really like the vibe here and also the length of the song is just perfect. Gets my vote!
Such a gentle, beautiful song. I love your heartfelt delivery. Your voice & guitar complement one another so well.
Clever lyrics – keeps the attention. Well sung too. I loved the ending – leaves it hanging as befits the context
Lovely chords, great voice, storng melody, short and sweet. Lloyd Cole is a good role model for any of us. Nice one.
Great song Tom – so complete.
