Back to the Farm

Took me 20 years how to write a song after my dad passed Feb’97. Wrote it in 20 minutes once I had the idea in my head. The last 3 words he told me were ‘Please remember me’. With such an emotional subject I just couldn’t write a song directly about my dad but in Jan 2007 at friend’s mothers memorial they talked about all the good things she did for her family. I had a new idea on how to write about things my dad I had done for me, raising me in the country on beautiful little farm. Song is also about how progress rolled over my childhood farm in 1989. Let me take you ‘Back to the Farm’ in my childhood.
