Lyrics

Geezerhood

I had a birthday — it was no big deal
One more spin of the cosmic wheel
I guess I’d have to say I feel
Well and truly blessed

When I was younger I’d paint the town
Get lit up and party down
This year I’m just layin’ around
On my Beautyrest

Welcome to Geezerhood
Geezers got it pretty good
We know the ropes
We know the score
We don’t get wound too tight
We’re on the downhill run
But I’m here to tell you, son
There’s still time to have some fun
Geezerhood’s alright

I got a bum hip and I’m losin’ hair
I spend more time in my easy chair
Rockin’ and relaxin’ there
The TV on the game

I got a sweetheart who loves me true
She’s some kind of geezer, too
I’m stuck on her like geezer glue
I know she feels the same

(chorus)

You’re prob’ly thinkin’ that I’m insane
Old age has sucked my brain
Down some dark hollow drain
And flushed it out to sea

Well it could be that I’m all wet
But I ain’t done swimming yet
I’ve got more life to get
While the gettin’s good for me

(chorus)

  1. I love this! Great tune, great lyrics and a great voice – quite Bob Dylan-sequel (hope that’s not an insult) I bet you do really well in this competition. Good luck buddy! 👍🏻
