Lyrics
DON’T LET OUR STORY END
I DON’T HAVE THE ANSWERS NO MORE
I DON’T KNOW THE WORDS THAT YOU WANT TO HEAR
I HAVE LAID MY HEART ON THE LINE
GIVEN EVERYTHING AND ALL I’M ASKING
LET THE FIRES BURN, RIDE OUT THE STORM
AND HOLD ON TILL THE MORNING
I HAVE EVERYTHING I NEED STANDING IN FRONT OF ME I CAN’T LET GO
CAN’T YOU SEE I’M HURTING I CAN’T CHANGE WHO I’LL ALWAYS BE
BUT ONE THING I CAN GUARANTEE
YOU CAN DEPEND YOU HAVE MY LOVE
DON’T LET OUR STORY END
JUST ANOTHER CHAPTER IN OUR LIVES
THE TWIST AND TURNS OF PASSION WE MUST RIDE
NO-ONE EVER SAID LOVE RAN SMOOTH,
WON’T GIVE UP ON A HAPPY ENDING
LET THE MUSIC PLAY FIND A WAY TO HOLD ON FOR TOMORROW
I HAVE EVERYTHING I NEED STANDING IN FRONT OF ME I CAN’T LET GO
CAN’T YOU SEE I’M HURTING I CAN’T CHANGE WHO I’LL ALWAYS BE
BUT ONE THING I CAN GUARANTEE
YOU CAN DEPEND YOU HAVE MY LOVE
DON’T LET OUR STORY END
Hey Mark, I enjoyed this song very much. As someone who has performed in a lot of musical theater, I immediately envisioned it being the song that a musical is built around. Strong tune, melody and the lyrics are “stronger” than songs that tend to whine more than convey an emotional point. The young lady’s voice and the piano add a delicate touch that compliments the song. Very much enjoyed it. Wishing you all the best and keep writing, I’m sure you could build a musical around it! Peter
